Motion drawings of everyday flow
Sketches of everyday happenings on the daily newspaper of the place is traveling since 1999 around the world. Sketch current actions over the news of the day which include the movement. The Performance Act by Artist Barbara Streiff... that will be in the here and now. This interaction of observing the silent crowd in public places gives everyone a meaning. In a change of intuitive perception, summarizing the impressions and technical rendering of the movement creates the artist Barbara Streiff the visual design. The expressive abstract designs in turn invite the viewer to his own interpretations. The process of painting in communication with the happening in the place leaves everything open.
The idea of the artist is sketching the everyday, the coincidence and the constant movement over the topicality of the tabloid newspaper. In this art action, everyone is invited to be a part of world affairs.

1999 - 2018 "all is hanging on line" is on the road all over the World. Barbara Streiff's Performance of expressive paintings with ink on News Paper from the happenings on public places.

1999 was the beginning of the project motions paintings and portraits in the station of Glarus CH, where the artist Barbara Streiff lives and works. Scetches from the people, they was waiting and moving on place. This art is`nt freshened, emotions and movement are allowed, and every body is welcome to be a part of this action. In the dark and quiet waiting room, where before was only the clock " tick-tac", comes live in.
2000/01 Perfromance NYC. She sits at the Grand Station, at Broadway, China-Down, Central Park, at Place Pigalle, a current newspaper on her knees. The daily rags around the world are her canvas. The intent of these action " Comics" is expressionistic "free flow of everyday life." They speak of pasion, pathos, and skill. This "boulevard performance" mirrow from the inside of what passes outside. The process of tis action " Comics" is intuitive.

Wenn die einzelne Person, in einem Konzentrationsakt dokumentiert wird und
zugleich mit dem Tages- und Weltgeschehen auf dem Zeitungspapier verschmilzt,
dann entsteht ein Zeitdokument, das auch versucht aufzuzeigen, dass jedes
Individuum Teil der Gesellschaft, der Politik und des Weltgeschehens ist.
Ob die Person es wünscht oder nicht. Im Kontrast zu den subtilen gezeichneten Figuren stehen die gedruckten Informationen. Der Betrachter ist versucht, eine Beziehung zwischen den gezeichneten Figuren und den gedruckten Artikeln herzustellen, ein Gesamtkunstwerk. Die Zeichnung als Gesamtbild wird für den Rezipienten zu einem intimen, persönlichen Zeugnis.
Da datiert, zeitlich gut zu ordnen, versehen mit Hintergrundinformationen
des Jetzt und mit einem intimen Einblick in das Da.

Die Schweizer Künstlerin Barbara hat diesen Herbst St. Petersburg besucht (Fotogalerie). Obschon Russlands Kulturhauptstadt von einem akademisch-konservativen Geist geprägt ist, gelang es Streiff als zeitgenössische Künstlerin leicht, eine Brücke zu schlagen. Sie knüpfte Kontakte mit KünstlerInnen und GaleristInnen und suchte mutig den direkten Kontakt zu den RussInnen.
